Each April the German city of Frankfurt celebrates the arrival of spring by raising its hotel rates in anticipation of the Pro Light + Sound exhibition. Whether that fine tradition will continue depends largely on how the industry reacts to this year's show, and the raft of format changes it will introduce. To say the least, the response so far has been cautious, and It's no wonder - for an industry based on technology, pro audio can be surprisingly conservative. Introducing such a large number of changes simultaneously is quite the gamble.
But while the halls and booth locations may change, the familiar faces will remain the same, including The Inside Story founder Barney Jameson, who will be walking the aisles for all four days of the show. If you've yet to set up a meeting with Barney then email him here to pick a time. Also, on the day before the show, watch out for some big Inside Story news.
